Lady Gaga to play SXSW

The singer is setting challenges for fans to gain entry to the intimate gig

Lady Gaga will play at South By Southwest festival.

Last week, it was reported that the pop singer was denied a permit to perform at the Texas festival's Doritos Stage, which is mocked up to look like a huge, snack-dispensing machine, due to concerns over public safety.

However,
Billboard reports that she will now play the relatively intimate 2,200-capacity outdoor stage at Stubb’s on March 13.

To gain entry, Gaga and sponsor Doritos are tasking fans with performing a series of challenges, or "Bold Missions", which will be revealed on Doritos.com in the days leading up to the performance. Watch a video of Gaga setting the first challenge below.

"I hope everyday to inspire my fans to follow their dreams, hold their talents precious and go for it," Gaga said in a statement. "I always say, 'I hope to spread love with every invention,' and I’m excited to see how the crowd at SXSW will spread their own mantras."

Gaga will bring her artRAVE tour to Britain this October. She will play a series of arena dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Dublin and Birmingham.
