Lady Sovereign to work with Jay-Z
The British rapper impresses the hip-hop legend…
LADY SOVEREIGN is set to work with JAY-Z.
The UK rap star was flown out to New York recently (August 11) by the hip-hop legend and the Def Jam label for a meeting in their Manhattan offices.
During the meeting with the pair – joined by Usher and Tiarra - a href="http://jayz.nme.com">JAY-Z[/url] surprised Sovereign by requesting an impromptu performance.
After freestyling three verses, Jay-Z then promised to get her into the studio to work with Missy Elliott and The Neptunes as soon as possible.
Lady Sovereign is continuing negotiations with Def Jam subsidiary, and Jay-Z’s new label La Familia for her future US releases.
He first Stateside single is due to come out on Chocolate Industries, remixed by [a][/a]’ Ad Rock.
Lady Sovereign’s next UK single will be ’Hoodie’, which is due to hit the shops on November 7.
