Lamb Of God have started recording their sixth studio album.

The Virginia metallers have entered the studio with producer Josh Wilbur, also known for his work with Californians Avenged Sevenfold. The new release is tentatively due for an early 2012 release, and will be the follow-up to 2009's 'Wrath'.

The band recently updated Twitter.com/lambofgodband with the news that fans could watch drummer Chris Adler tracking the new album parts live from Skullsnbones.com. "If at first you don't hear anything, the audio is tied into the soundboard so you'll only have audio when I'm playing or we are talking," said Adler.

The drummer also told news site Gunshyassassin.com that the new album is progressing nicely. “I’m excited,” Adler said. “When you are in the middle of it, writing, and having to perform it over and over again, you kind of get lost in it. But when I get to sit back and we have this hard disc — it’s pretty exciting stuff. I’m excited that at our spot in time, and at our age, that we’re still doing something that is different and better than anything we’ve done in the past.”
