Singer [b]Louise Rhodes[/b] talks to [b]nme.com[/b] about the band's future plans...

Lamb unveiled three new songs at a free show in NEW YORK CITY's CENTRAL PARK yesterday (August 13).

The gig was of a show celebrating the 10th anniversary of GIANT STEP, the NEW YORK-based concert and event promoters that also run a record label and a marketing group.

Lamb songstress Louise Rhodes told nme.com that the new songs, one of which is called 'Sweetheart', were a good example of the direction the band's next album will go in. Rhodes said to expect a new Lamb release sometime early next year, although its title and exact tracks have not yet been determined. The band released their last LP, 'Fear Of Fours', in 1999.

Rhodes said she was in the midst of a hectic summer, between touring with Lamb in Europe, moving house and working on side projects, including one with dance legend A Guy Called Gerald.

She added: "I was really hoping to join Gerald while he tours the US this summer. But it would have been too difficult with everything. I love doing stuff with him, though. He's a wicked guy." Rhodes sings 'Humanity' on Gerald's latest album, Essence, and he has remixed 'Cotton Wool' from Lamb's eponymous 1996 LP.

Louise also recently flew to Berlin to record a song for the soundtrack of the upcoming German film 'Der Krieger Und Die Kaiserin' (The Princess and the Warrior)' by 'Run Lola Run' director Tom Tykwer.

As the summer winds down, Rhodes revealed that Lamb will concentrate on writing more songs "and getting back to normal life".
