David Cameron reveals his love of Lana Del Rey and Band Of Horses

But the Prime Minister says he has no time for Katy Perry or Bruno Mars

David Cameron has revealed that he is a big fan of Lana Del Rey and Band Of Horses.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the Prime Minister said the US country rock band and ‘Video Games’ singer were his favourite new artists.

Cameron, who became Prime Minister in 2010, also revealed his dislike for Bruno Mars and Katy Perry, who he described as “appalling”, but admitted that they are “beginning to infect his iPod” as his children are big fans.

The Conservative Party leader has previously expressed his love of Florence And The Machine, The Killers, The xx and, most famously, The Smiths. His well known love of The Smiths was not welcomed by either Morrissey or Johnny Marr, with Marr saying that he would “forbid” the Prime Minister from liking his former band.

Marr tweeted at the time: “David Cameron, stop saying that you like The Smiths, no you don’t. I forbid you to like it”. Morrissey subsequently backed his former bandmate’s stance and has hit out at David Cameron several times since then.

Sorry Johnny Marr, you don’t get to choose who likes The Smiths
