Lana Del Rey to sing live on first UK results show of 'The Voice'
'Video Games' songstress to brave TV performance later this month (April 29)
The BBC talent show took to their official Twitter account to confirm that the 'Video Games' songstress will perform live on the programme on April 29, with Emeli Sande set to take to the stage a week later on May 6.
Del Rey, who released her debut album 'Born To Die' earlier this year, has a shaky history with live TV performances. Her appearance on flagship US show Saturday Night Live in January attracted criticism from other artists such as Juliette Lewis, who likened her to a "12 year-old in her bedroom", forcing guest presenter and 'Harry Potter' actor ]Daniel Radcliffe to defend her in subsequent interviews.
Earlier this month (April 2), however, Del Rey brushed off her earlier nerves for her debut performance on Late Night With David Letterman and got a rapturous response after she sang 'Video Games' – you can watch her in action by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking. You can also listen to Del Rey's rendition of Kasabian's track 'Goodbye Kiss', which she recorded for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge earlier this week (April 20), by clicking at the bottom of the page.
The Voice, which features Jessie J, Tom Jones, will.i.am and The Script's Danny O'Donoghue as coaches, sees contestants perform in "blind" auditions, in which the coaches turn their backs on the singers – so that they are only judging the voice. The winner of the UK version of the show will receive a recording contract with Universal.
