Lana Del Rey names new album 'Ultraviolence'
Singer reveals title of upcoming second album at screening of new short film
The singer revealed the name during a launch event for her new short film Tropico, a 30-minute-long piece starring Lana Del Rey alongside model and actor Shaun Ross, due for release tomorrow (December 6).
Talking onstage at a screening of Tropico at Hollywood's Cinerama Dome, Del Rey told fans who had gathered to watch the film: "I really just wanted us all to be together so I could visually close the chapter before I release my new album, 'Ultraviolence'." The digital release of Tropico will come as part of the 'The Tropico' EP, which also includes the songs 'Body Electric', 'Gods And Monsters' and 'Bel Air'. All three songs originally featured on 'Born To Die – The Paradise Edition'.
Speaking about working on her new LP earlier this year, Del Rey commented: "When people ask me about it, I just have to be honest – I really don't know… I don't want to say, 'Yeah, definitely - the next one's better than this one,' because I don't really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying."
Lana Del Rey released her debut album 'Born To Die' in 2012.
