Lana Del Rey set for Number One with 'Ultraviolence'

US singer's second album currently ahead of Linkin Park in Official Album Chart

Lana Del Rey is at Number One in the Official Album Chart with her new album 'Ultraviolence' at the midweek point today (June 18).

Official Chart Company data reveals that the US singer's second album is on course to go straight to Number One, landing ahead of nearest rivals Linkin Park with their new album 'The Hunting Party' at the midweek stage. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (June 22).

There are a further five new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart Update with Deadmau5's 'While (1<2)' new at Number 13. Other new entries are due from Tiesto (21), Klaxons (25), Willie Nelson (32) and Jennifer Lopez (36).

Lana Del Rey's 2012 debut 'Born To Die' has also climbed up the chart in the wake of the 'Ultraviolence' release and is currently at Number 28. Similarly, interest in Ed Sheeran's debut album '+' has increased ahead of the release of his new record 'x' next week. The 2011 release is currently at Number Ten.

In the Official Singles Chart, 5 Seconds of Summer are currently ahead of former X Factor contestant, and current chart-topper, Ella Henderson with their single 'Don't Stop'.

Other new entries in the chart come from George Ezra (3), Gorgon City (5), Demi Lovato (11), The Kooks (32) and Peace (40).
