Laura Marling debuted new material at a one-off show in east London last night (March 30).

Accompanied by Marcus Johnstone from Mumford and Sons, the set included new songs such as 'Rebecca' and 'Drinking Alone'.

Clearly enjoyed the opportunity to perform together after a rare peanut allergy forced them to abandon a collaboration at South By South West earlier this month, the pair chatted throughout the gig, with Johnstone jokingly telling the crowd that their off-mic chats were extremely funny and people at the back "were missing out".

The set included old favourites 'Ghosts' and 'Alas, I Cannot Swim', which were enthusiastically received from the packed crowd, while the encore featured a surprise cover of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene'.

Another cover, Hank Williams' 'Ramblin' Man', was also included in the set.

Marling, who is currently working on a follow-up to her Nationwide Mercury Prize-nominated 2008 debut 'Alas, I Cannot Swim', indicated the gig will be her only London show until August.

Marling was headlining the NIKA (Not In Kansas Anymore) club night at the Hoxton Bar And Kitchen, with support coming from Polly Scattergood and Sixtoes.
