MOBO NOT WORKING!

The Lauryn Hill-headlined event in London is scrapped due to "sponsorship difficulties"...

MOBO NOT WORKING!

MOBOFEST 2001 has been cancelled.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the event was due to take place on August 4 in London's Victoria Park, and feature Lauryn Hill as its headliner.

However, A statement on the official Mobo website at www.mobo.net claims that sponsorship difficulties has forced its cancellation.

A spokespeson for promoter Boomfactory said: "We are devastated and very sorry to be in this position which is completely beyond our control, but we are now unable to stage this year's MoboFest.

We have received tremendous support from the public and our media partners have been amazing. Our priority now is to focus on next year's event".

A festival is being planned for 2002.
