A photobook chronicling the history of LCD Soundsystem is set for publication.
Photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya is behind the new book, titled LCD. Published by Powerhouse Books, it will look back on the story of the band from their inception to their split last year, reports Spin.
Of Wijesooriya's photos, LCD Soundsystem's former frontman James Murphy said: "All of Ruvan's pictures remind me of that feeling: that you're geographically fucked, and it's all happening right now, somewhere else, without you. There's an enormous amount of intimacy in them, and promise, and intrusion."
He writes in the intro to the 216 page book: "Ruven has been getting in my face for years. He has taken several thousand pictures of LCD over the last few years, and he whittled them down to literally hundreds for this book. We were a band, and these pictures make it clear we were a band."
The pictures were taken as far afield as London's Hyde Park, Coachella festival, Rick Rubin's recording studio in the Hollywood Hills and Way Out West festival in Sweden.
Some of the photos have already been featured in Shut Up And Play The Hits, the acclaimed documentary about LCD Soundsystem's two farewell gigs at Madison Square Garden, New York in spring 2011.
