Plus Bloc Party’s 'Flux' goes Top Ten

Led Zeppelin entered the UK Top Forty singles chart today (November 18) at Number 37 with their classic 1971 song ‘Stairway To Heaven’.

The band had made their back catalogue available to download earlier this week, hence the new chart entry.

Elsewhere in today’s singles chart Bloc Party scored a Number Eight hit with their new single 'Flux' – the remixes of which you can get on a free CD with the current issue of NME.

Runrig also entered the top ten, their Children In Need Single ‘Loch Lomond’ entering at Nine.

'X Factor' winner Leona Lewis held on to the Number One spot with her single ‘Bleeding Love’, with Take That at Number Two with ‘Rule The World’ and Timbaland at number three with ‘Apologize’ – an unchanged Top Three.

In the albums chart, Leona Lewis’ debut, ‘Spirit’, went straight in at Number One, taking the record for the fastest-selling UK debut album ever from Arctic Monkeys, who had previously set the record with their 2006 album, ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’. She sold around 375,000 albums.

The Spice Girls‘Greatest Hits’ went in at Number Two. Led Zeppelin’s ‘Mothership’ compilation went in at Four, with Celine Dion’s ‘Taking Chances’ entered at Five.

The Killers’ new B-sides and rarities compilation, ‘Sawdust’, went in at Number Seven.
