The heavyweight dance acts are among those contributing to a benefit album for [b]Survival International[/b]...

Leftfield and THE ORB are among those contributing exclusive mixes to a benefit album for the charity SURVIVAL INTERNATIONAL.

The album sees some of dance music's most respected names giving the remix touch to tracks by tribal artists - most notably Leftfield, Graham Massey from 808 State and Youth - while more underground acts such as Juno Reactor and Zion Train are contributing unreleased tracks.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the charity Survival International, a charity which works to protect the rights of indigenous tribal peoples the world over. "The dance music scene has been heavily influenced by tribal music in recent years," explained a spokesperson. "This is a great opportunity for the music industry to join forces and give something back."

There will also be two events in London centred around the album's release. The first will be held at The Tabernacle in early October, and will feature guest speakers from the charity, as well as DJ sets from The Orb's Alex Paterson and Youth. The second event is an all-nighter hosted by Dragonfly Records at Brixton Academy on October 28th. The Orb, 808 State and Youth have all been confirmed to DJ, while some very special live acts have yet to be confirmed. The album 'Tribal Futures: The Way Ahead' is released on October 23rd.
