Leonard Cohen sues former manager Leonard Cohen Tickets
Kelley Lynch is accused of defrauding the singer of at least $5 million…
Leonard Cohen is suing his long-time business manager for allegedly defrauding the singer of at least $5 million (£2.8 million).
The legendary artist filed a suit in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday (August 15) seeking damages for alleged breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, common law fraud, professional negligence and other claims against Kelley Lynch.
According to Reuters, tax lawyer Richard Westin was also named as a defendant for allegedly mismanaging Leonard Cohen’s retirement funds.
According to the suit, Lynch was Leonard Cohen’s business manager for around 17 years until he fired her in October 2004 for allegedly taking money out of his personal and investment accounts.
It is claimed that the amounts taken were in excess of the 15% management compensation that Lynch was entitled to receive.
