Leonard Cohen for first tour in 15 years

Legend will tour Canada next month

Leonard Cohen has announced his first tour in 15 years, scheduled to kick off May 11 in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The Canadian will tour his home country taking in several residencies throughout May and June, before heading to Europe in July.

The tour is the first since the release of Cohen’s albums ‘Dear Heather’ (2004) and ‘Blue Alert’ (2006). Both albums were recorded with jazz singer Anjani Thomas, who co-produced ‘Dear Heather’.

Cohen was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in March, at a ceremony at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. His induction was largely overshadowed by that of Madonna, who was inducted by her most recent collaborator Justin Timberlake.

The dates are:

Fredericton, New Brunswick - Fredericton Playhouse (May 11)
Halifax, Nova Scotia - Rebecca Cohn Auditorium (12,13, 15-17)
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island - Confederation Centre (18)
Glace Bay, Nova Scotia - Savoy Theatre (20, 21)
Moncton, New Brunswick - Capitol Theatre (23)
St. John's - Newfoundland - Holy Heart Theatre (25-27)
Saguenay, Quebec - Auditorium Dufour (30, 31)
Kitchener, Ontario - Centre in the Square (June 2)
Hamilton, Ontario - Hamilton Place Theatre (3,4)
Toronto, Ontario - Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (6,7)
Montreal, Quebec - Place Des Arts (23-25)
