Syd Butler touts his favourite NHL team

Les Savy Fav bassist Syd Butler has started writing a blog about hockey for the US National Hockey League.

Butler, a native of Washington DC, has launched a blog about his city's team, the Washington Capitals, on NHL.com.

He joins a host of celebrity bloggers who offer fan's perspectives on their favourite teams.

Speaking to Pitchfork, Butler admitted to being a long-time fan of the sport. "I caught the bug when [I was] eight years old-- my extended family all got it," he said.

"Once you play it...nothing else compares. I think it's the perfect sport. I know some might disagree, but your first stride on a clean sheet of ice is one of the best feelings in the world."

Butler added, "The better the Caps do the better the blog will be."
