Les Savy Fav are rush-releasing their new album digitally after it leaked online.

'Root For Ruin', which had been due for release in the UK on September 13 and September 14 in the US, will now be made available digitally later today (August 3). Physical copies of the album will also be issued shortly, reports One Thirty BPM.

Recorded at New York's Gigantic Studios, the LP was produced by Chris Zane, who worked on their previous release.

The move comes after the group's fifth studio effort, the follow-up to 2007's 'Let's Stay Friends', started appearing on torrent websites last week.

The band have also set up a page on their official website, allowing those who obtained 'Root For Ruin' illegally the option to donate money to the group, plus download the alternative 'leaked edition' album artwork.

"Donate some cash to us and be free of guilt - for the record," the New Yorkers said on the site. LesSavyFav.com. "Pay extra and you're also forgiven for sex sins and stuff, AND we'll tell Jesus to send you cookies."

Les Savy Fav will head out on European tour, begining at Glasgow's O2 ABC2 on November 13.
