He is set to release EP recorded in five hours

Lightspeed Champion have recorded a Green Day covers album.

Dev Hynes (who is Lightspeed in the same way Mike Skinner is The Streets) told NME.COM that he was hoping to release the unique record online in the future.

The band have also put a new EP of material online.

He said of the record: “It's called 'I Wrote And Recorded This In Less Than Five Hours'. I recorded in at V Festival. I went there on my own. I was fired up by seeing all those bands and I wrote and recorded the songs in five hours.

“It’s totally different to my album (which comes out next year). There’s a rocky song on it, a tribal song and a sort of electro song on it.”

The album is set to be available online.

Meanwhile the 'band' is set to set to go on tour, calling at:

Birmingham Bar Academy (October 1)
London 100 Club (2)
Bristol Fleece (3)
Manchester Roadhouse (5)
Glasgow King Tuts (6)
Leeds Cockpit (7)
Nottingham Social (8)
