LIL' MIX-UP

LIL' MIX-UP
LIL' KIM has lost $250,000 worth of jewellery, including her trademark QUEEN BEE necklace, after a mix-up at JFK airport.

The incident happened on Friday (June 20), as the rapper was waiting to fly to Los Angeles for the BET Awards. When boarding the 8.45am flight from the airport in New York, Kim realised that she had accidentally checked her Louis Vuitton bag, containing around $500,000 worth of jewellery, into the baggage hold of the jet.

The flight was then delayed so the luggage could be removed, but the jewels had already gone missing, according to a spokesperson for the Port Authority Of New York And New Jersey, who manage JFK airport.

As well as the white and yellow diamond encrusted necklace - the symbol of her Queen Bee Records label - her platinum dog tags inlaid with yellow diamonds also went to missing.

In a written statement Lil' Kim, real name Kimberly Jones, said: "It has been an unnerving experience to have something with such deep sentimental meaning taken from me."

Mel Sachs, the rapper's attorney, told the Associated Press that the bag appeared "tampered with". An investigation has been launched by Port Authority police in conjunction with the Queens District Attorney's office.
