Lil Wayne is tipped to release his new album 'The Carter IV' this April.

The rapper resumed work on the record after being released from prison in November. According to Rolling Stone, guests on the record include Kanye West and T-Pain.

All the songs on the album aside from four have reportedly been recorded since the rapper's release from prison. He served eight months in New York's Rikers Island jail for gun crime.

The last album in his 'Tha Carter' series, the third, was released in 2008.

Meanwhile, the rapper has also revealed his reading list while he was incarcerated. He finished biographies on Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye and Joan Jett, as well as the reading The Bible for the first time.

"It was deep," he said of the latter book. "I liked the parts where some character was once this, but ended up being that. Like he'd be dissing Jesus, and then he ends up being a saint. That was cool."
