New IRS reports creates more financial woe for rapper

Lil Wayne hit with tax bill for over $5 million
Lil Wayne is facing a tax bill of $5.6 million (£3,400,000) that dates back to 2008, according to reports made public today (April 5).

The rapper has been hit with new bills from the US Internal Revenue Service. He reportedly owes $3,300,000 (£2 million) from 2008 and $2,250,000 (£1,400,000) from 2009, according to The Detroit News.

A federal tax lien has been imposed on his Miami mansion – which is valued at nearly $13 million (£8 million) and is currently for sale – in order to secure the payment.

The latest IRS report doesn't mark the first time Lil Wayne has been hit with huge tax problems. Last July he was ordered to pay a $1.1 million (£740,000) bill once he completed his prison sentence for gun crimes.

Meanwhile, last month producer Dezzle – real name Darius Harrisonfiled a lawsuit against the rapper for $20 million (£12.3 million), claiming he wasn't paid for work on the rapper's song 'Lollipop'.

It was the fourth high-profile lawsuit the rapper has faced, after he was sued by producer Bangladesh for allegedly unpaid royalties in 2007, and for separate suits concerning copyright infringement and canceling US shows in 2009.
