Lil Wayne has admitted he was a fan of Nirvana when he was young.

In an interview with MTV, the hip hop star spoke about watching the grunge act's videos on TV when he was a child. "'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was the only rock song that [would] come on and you’d be like, ‘That one is OK, I can deal with that one'."

The rapper went on to reveal that: "I was young and I actually listened to the lyrics, I probably felt at that time, I was rebelling and I can associate myself with that. [I could] relate to the things he [vocalist Kurt Cobain] was talking about in the songs. I probably couldn’t, but I thought I could.”

Lil Wayne was recently revealed to be featuring as a guest vocalist on Limp Bizkit's forthcoming new album 'Gold Cobra'. The rapper will release his own new album 'Tha Carter IV' in August 2011.
