Lil Wayne has released his brand new album 'I Am Not A Human Being II' today (March 25).

The rapper put out his 10th album – the follow-up to 2011's 'Tha Carter IV' - on Cash Money Records.

The release comes after Lil Wayne recently spent six days in intensive care following a series of seizures.

Earlier this month the rapper was found in a critical condition and rushed into hospital.

Rumours of Wayne's death had circulated online, however, a tweet from the rapper's Twitter account assured fans that he was still alive. The tweet read:

It is reported that he suffered a seizure on the set of a music video, with many speculating that his love of the drink "sizzurp", a mixture of fizzy drinks, hard sweets and codeine, may have led to his ill health.

Last year, Lil Wayne stated that he will release just two more albums before retiring.

He told MTV News that 'I Am Not A Human Being II' would be his penultimate album with just one more record to follow.

Speaking to reporters about his career and feeling old at 30, Wayne said: "I know y'all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album. Man, I've been rapping since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time, man."

"When I love to do something, I'm fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that 'it'," he added. "I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14. I'm 30 now. Thank God I haven't put out an album that hasn't went platinum. To just keep it going like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I'm fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great."
