Lil Wayne has revealed plans to release his album 'Tha Carter V' on October 28.

He announced the release date on US television earlier today (August 14). It will follow 'Tha Carter IV', which was released in 2011 and charted at Number Eight in the Official UK Albums Chart. Earlier this year the rapper said that he does not intend to record another album after 'Tha Carter V', telling MTV News, only a very lucrative offer would lure him out of retirement.

"I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes and it's definitely the final 'Carter' album. It's the final 'Carter' album. It's stopping at five," he said. Asked what would lure him out of solo retirement, the rapper said: "25 to 35 million (US dollars) would get me to do another solo album after this."

Lil Wayne and Drake recently teamed up on new song 'Grindin'. The song came as both rappers tour the US together in a live show which sees them battle each other during one segment of the show. An app can be downloaded prior to the performance which allows fans in the audience "help their favorite rapper 'power up' and impact their performances in real time."

The lucrative tour has arrived amid reports that Lil Wayne is being sued for allegedly not playing private jet fees. Aircraft rental company The Signature Group are asking for $1 million from the rapper – real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr – and Young Money Entertainment. The company recently released a 14-page statement that says the rapper "has to pay his bills like the rest of us".

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has denied reports that he is set to be managed by Lil Wayne, though representatives for the rapper's label maintain they are still set to work with the footballer. It was reported last month that Lil Wayne would represent the Real Madrid and Portugal player through his newly created sports management company.
