Drugs charges against Lil’ Wayne have been dropped after a judge in Atlanta granted his request to disregard evidence on the basis of an illegal search.
The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. , was arrested in August 2006 after police found marijuana and bottles containing hydrocodone and a generic form of Xanax in a hotel room in Atlanta.
His attorney told the court that he was not staying in the room, and Fulton County Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson granted Carter’s motion to suppress, reports the Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Carter is still facing drug charges in Arizona, and a weapons charge in New York.
