Singer admits binge drinking sabotaged US tour

Lily Allen has admitted that her penchant for binge drinking was a contributing factor to the collapse of her recent US tour.

Speaking candidly to Time Out in New York, the singer admitted "when you walk into your dressing room every night and there are 40 beers, it’s difficult not to drink them all, you know?"

Allen previously blamed home sickness and exhaustion for the cancellation of 20 gigs across the US, but revealed that the real reason was down to her lack of self control, especially when it comes to alcohol.

She revealed her own anxieties about her self-professed ‘addictive personality’ by revealing, "I don’t want to be hanging over a toilet seat snorting coke when I’m 50."
