Lily Allen has cancelled a handful of festival appearances this week because she’s sick – and has posted her doctor’s note online to prove it.
The singer has been advised to rest after suffering from sinusitis and strep throat and has been order to rest, forcing her to pull out of several European dates.
She wrote on her blog: “I’ve have literally been around the whole world in two weeks from London to Japan around Australia and then to LA and Vegas then back to LA for a 17 hour video shoot, and now I'm back in London eating my mum's chicken soup cause I’m afraid the travelling has caught up with me. I've got sinusitis and strep throat (I don't even know what that is) and have been advised to take a couple of weeks off by a doctor in LA and a doctor here.”
However Allen got in ahead of anyone who might think she is putting it on by posting a photo of her holding her doctors note on the blog too.
“Before anyone starts trying to accuse me of neglecting my fans I want to apologise and say how sorry I am, but I cant risk causing any permanent damage,” she explained. “I hope people can understand and aren’t too angry.”
The note can bee seen on her Myspace blog.
Meanwhile the following shows are off: Way Out West Festival (11), Sweden, Sagres (15), Portugal, and Lowlands Festival (17), Holland.
Her appearances at next weekend’s V Festival (August 18-19) is current set to go ahead.
