Singer and her friends return to BBC3

Lily Allen's chat show will return to BBC3 for a second series, according to BBC News.

The 'Smile' singer will film a further eight episodes of 'Lily Allen And Friends', after helping to increase the channel's audience share by 44 per cent.

"I'm thrilled that we're going to make a second series of the show, it's been such a laugh. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who tuned in and I can't wait to film series two," Allen said.

The show's current series has received widespread criticism.

Members of the audience reportedly walked out of the filming of one show through boredom, while Allen was criticised by teaching unions for encouraging 'kegging' amongst schoolchildren - the act of pulling someone's trousers down in public.

BBC3 controller Danny Cohen, however, said the singer had "developed astoundingly well as a TV host in just a few weeks".
