Lily Allen slammed for revealing kidnap details Lily Allen Tickets

The singer went public despite police publicity ban

Lily Allen has been slammed by an ex-policeman for speaking publicly about the recent kidnap of a friend – despite police placing a ban on publicity.

The star thanked police for rescuing her friend from kidnappers, but the move has been branded "appalingly irresponsible" by a former policeman.

"It was outrageous," said ex-Scotland Yard commander John O'Conner. The newspaper claimed that the kidnapped friend of Allen's was "livid".

That photo says it all really. Nice bit of publicity for her and her sure-to-be-shit record. THE MACHINE WORKS!

I hope this doesn't mean there's going to be some sort of 'My mate got kidnapped by a fella and it was well bad' song at the end of the record!
