Singer says she's not a 'puppet'

Lily Allen has struck out at music fans who think female popstars are "puppets".

In an exclusive NME.COM video interview, which you can watch by clicking below, Allen said she gets annoyed when people presume that female popstars are controlled by male industry figures.

"I think people assume that with people like Duffy, Adele, me and Amy [Winehouse], that we are puppets being run by some bigger, more powerful men in the background," she said in the video. "I don't think people would think the same about Paolo Nutini and James Morrison."
