Lily Allen: 'I'd be adding fuel to the fire by working with Mark Ronson'

Lily Allen has explained her decision to work with producer Greg Kurstin on her new album, rather than Mark Ronson, who produced several songs on her 2006 debut 'Alright, Still'.

The singer said she wanted to explore a different sound on 'It's Not Me, It's You', which debuted at Number One on the UK chart this week and hit the top of the US iTunes chart as well.

"I love Mark, and I love what he does but he definitely has a specific retro sound and I think people like to bundle all us girls together anyway and I'd only be adding fuel to the fire by doing something with him," she said. "I wanted to take it in a different direction."

During her appearance on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic in Los Angeles this morning (February 18), Allen also explained the title of her new album, which she said is "a flip on the original break-up line, 'It's not you, it's me'".

Allen also addressed her ongoing Twitter feud with gossip columnist Perez Hilton, in which the pair have been exchanging insults back and forth on the blogging site.

"I take it with a pinch of salt, it's kind of humourous," she said, and later dedicated two songs to him during her on-air performance.
