Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is set to star in a new sitcom, which has the working title of Douchebag.

The singer has signed a deal with CBS TV Studios to star in and produce the sitcom, which will be written by Matthew Carlson, who has penned episodes of Malcolm In The Middle, The Wonder Years and most recently Mr. Sunshine.

According to Deadline, the sitcom's plot will centre around a rock legend who is trying and struggling to find the right balance between his high profile lifestyle and trying to raise a family. It is set to hit screens in the US sometime in 2012.

Durst and his bandmates in Limp Bizkit are currently on a break after their summer tour in support of comeback album 'Gold Cobra', which was released earlier this year.

The singer said from the stage at this summer's Sonisphere Festival that the band would be returning to UK in December for live dates, but these have yet to be announced.
