'Minutes To Midnight' achieves highest first-week sales of 2007

Linkin Park have scored this year's best-selling album on the US Billboard chart with 'Minutes To Midnight'.

Hitting the Number One spot this week with 623,000 copies sold, it is the highest-selling album of 2007 in its debut week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The last album to sell more copies the first week of its release was Jay-Z's 'Kingdom Come', which sold 680,000 copies last December.

As previously reported, Linkin Park have recruited My Chemical Romance and Placebo to headline their Project Revolution tour throughout North America this summer.
