Linkin Park have revealed details of their new album 'The Hunting Party'.

The album is set for release on June 16, the day after this summer's Download Festival, where the band are one of the headline acts, set to perform their 2000 album 'Hybrid Theory' in full at the event.

Speaking about the band's sixth album to Noisey, Mike Shinoda said: "What's worked for us in the past is stick to our guns as far as what our creative vision is, spend a lot of time on it, and really craft it. On this record we spent six months in the studio, probably six more out of the studio in addition, just coming up with demos and throwing them away."

He added: "In contrast to that, there was a pop artist who I won't name who was in the studio while we were doing our record – they showed up for three days. Day one they showed up for 30 minutes, day two they showed up for 15, and day three they neglected to show up at all. The song was done."

The band recently revealed 'Guilty All The Time', the first song from their new album. The track features US rapper Rakim. Speaking about the song's guest star, Shinoda was full of praise. "If you get into the nitty-gritty of his rhyme pattern and the topic in this song, it's bananas what he is doing," he told KROQ. "He's on the some Steve Vai shit vocally."

Linkin Park and Jay-Z will reissue their 2004 album 'Collision Course' for this year's Record Store Day on April 19. The joint album, which saw the nu-metal band's songs mashed up with Jay Z raps, will be reissued on blue vinyl for the special occasion.
