Little Richard has said that he plans to return to playing live following successful surgery on his hip.
The rock 'n' roll legend, who turns 77 on Saturday (December 5), said yesterday following his release from hospital in his home state of Nashville that he planned to gig in 2010, reports the Associated Press.
The singer said that he would be "shouting 'shut up' and rocking like the old days" and that he would be taking to the stage "as soon as possible".
Richard had been playing live in 2009 prior to the operation, for which he asked fans to pray for his quick recovery.
