Live Earth's Tokyo headliners go green
Linkin Park are taking steps to save the environment by switching completely to biofuel for their upcoming tourdates.
The nu-metallers, who headline the Tokyo leg of today’s Live Earth concerts, are determined to do their bit, and bassist Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell claims converting the band’s vehicles to eco-friendly fuel will save them the equivalent of 400,000 miles-worth of driving when they hit the road later this month.
“We’re not trying to save the world,” he told BBC News, “But it’s our goal to do what we can to clean up our world and make it a better place for our kids to live.”
Other acts who have already appeared on the Tokyo line-up include mohican-sporting Japanese punks Rize and the "Japanese Britney Spears", Kumi Koda.
The series of events is part of a campaign by environmentalist and former US Vice President Al Gore to bring awareness to climate change.
