Kasabian get Wembley Stadium singing

Kasabian got Wembley Stadium singing as Live Earth continued this afternoon (July 7).

The Leicester band got the venue rocking as they blasted through their three-song set.

“Hello Wembley Stadium and the world, how are you?” asked frontman Tom Meighan, dressed in a Union Jack shirt as they launched into opener ’Empire’.

“I just want to tell the whole world wherever you are, save your energy!” added Meighan between songs. "Let's put a message out there, let's try to save the polar bears so our children's children can see 'em."

With the band engaging the crowd and getting them to jump around during their 15-minute set, by closer ’LSF’ Kasabian had got the stadium rocking, inspiring a mass singalong.

“‘LSF’ was the rallying cry, we wanted to get everyone singing,” guitarist Serge Pizzorno exclusively told NME.COM afterwards. “I think people were there because they wanted to sing so that was a good song to get the people together. We really got everyone going like a choir. Three songs was not enough.”

In fact, the guitarist hinted they may well get the chance to play for longer at Wembley in the near future.

“We sold enough tickets on the last arena tour to sell it out three nights, so fingers crossed!” he said, hinting about next year.
