Rock heir insists recycling is 'pointless'

Osbournes family member drops Live Earth clanger
Jack Osbourne almost left presenter Jonathan Ross speechless when he declared – live at the eco-campaigning Live Earth show today (July 7) – that recycling “has no benefit”.
After interviewing strings of celebrities live on BBC TV, all promoting the importance of going carbon neutral, Ross looked aghast when Osbourne blithely claimed he and his family never recycle.
“We may get stoned for this, but we don’t actually recycle,” he told Ross, “I read somewhere it isn’t beneficial. I bought a hybrid car though, so I think it makes up for it.”
The Live Earth concerts are part of a campaign by environmentalist and former US Vice President Al Gore to bring awareness to climate change.
NME.COM will be reporting live all day from Live Earth in Sydney, London and New York, bringing you live reports from the day's events.
