Black Eyed Peas write song for Live Earth

Black Eyes Peas got Wembley Stadium dancing as the London leg of Live Earth continued today (July 7).

Taking the stage to an instrumental track of the theme music from 'Pulp Fiction', the multi Grammy Award-winning hip-hop pop collective brought the first real spectacle to the Wembley stage, as leader Will.I.Am instructed the audience to “make some noise for Planet Earth!”.

They were introduced by TV presenter June Sarpong.

Before segueing the introduction of 'Don't Phunk With My Heart' into vocal anthem 'Big Girls', lead singer Fergie said to the audience: "You know sometimes, walking away from situations or old habits is a hard thing to do. But that's because it's the right thing to do."

Later on, rapper apl.de.ap also surprised fans by performed an all-new acapella composition he wrote in honour of Al Gore after recently meeting him Brazil.

He said: "Two days ago I had the blessing of being in Brazil, it’s a beautiful place. When I think of planet Earth I think of Brazil because 20 per-cent of the world’s oxygen comes from that place."

Black Eyed Peas played:

'Let’s Get It Started'
'Don’t Punk With My Heart' / 'Big Girls'
'apl.de.ap's theme'
'Where Is The Love?'

Live Earth continues at London with John Legend next, with performances coming from Bloc Party and Madonna among others.
