Lorde has announced details of a rare UK headline show.

The singer will play London's Brixton Academy on June 6. It is only the second time she has played the UK, following a tiny gig at London cabaret bar Madame JoJo's last year.

Yesterday, Lorde was forced to postpone an Australian tour after being ordered to by her parents. She has announced that the shows will now need to be rescheduled after her parents and team intervened to ensure her long term wellbeing.

Tweeting about the postponement, Lorde wrote: "I have had to postpone my Australian shows because of a nasty chest infection and general ill health. I am so so gutted to have to do this but my parents and my team stepped in telling me I needed a break after being non-stop since the Grammys in January. We will 100% be back for this tour (most likely in November) so don't worry about that."

Since January, Lorde has performed at music festivals such as Coachella, and also joined Joan Jett, St Vincent and Kim Gordon in fronting Nirvana as part of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony.
