Los Campesinos! big-up Jay-Z at Glastonbury Los Campesinos! Tickets
Band cheekily say All Tomorrow's Parties is the better festival
Los Campesinos! played a high-octane set on the Other Stage at 12:40pm (BST) this afternoon (June 28) at Glastonbury.
However, during the set frontman Gareth Campesinos! cheekily described All Tomorrow's Parties as "the best festival in the UK".
The Cardiff-based band drew an enthusiastic response from the crowd, inducing the singer to leap in to join them at the end of the set, singing as he mingled in the audience.
The band were playing in the blazing sunshine, as the weather cleared up after a drizzly start to the festival yesterday (June 27).
After opening with 'Broken Heartbeats Sound Like Breakbeats', after four songs Gareth Campesinos! said, "This is a song in the vein of 'Naive' by The Kooks. It's about the best festival in the UK: ATP."
Later on in the set he paid tribute to Jay-Z, due to headline the Pyramid Stage tonight. "Make sure you go and see Jay-Z," he told the crowd. "He's the best thing to happen to Glastonbury in years."
The band ended with a pumped-up version of 'Sweet Dreams Sweet Cheeks', during which Gareth Campesinos! leaped into the crowd, much to their delight, singing most of the song among the fans.
