Lostprophets speak out about first-ever festival headline slot
Welsh metallers prepare rock Download
Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show, frontman Ian Watkins revealed the band had been talking about crazy idea involving Transformers.
The singer said: “The production has got to be a bit tasty. I was thinking (Transformers) Optimus Prime picking up the stage and Megatron picking up the crowd, and then they have a battle while holding everybody.”
Whether this will actually happen remains undecided, but either way Watkins has big plans for the show.
He revealed: “I’m gonna be dropped off by a solid gold helicopter just as the set is starting and then, just as it finishes, I’ll get picked up again.”
Watkins also hinted that the band’s new album will be finished by then – with many of the new songs on the follow-up to 2006's 'Liberation Transmission' being played in the set.
He said: “We did the bulk of the album and it just felt like it wasn’t quite there yet but it’s going really well. Can’t mess around can we? The time for messing around is gone.”
