Lostprophets explain guitarist's V Festival no-show

Guitarist misses most of Staffordshire set due to hospital dash

Lostprophets have released a statement revealing why guitarist Lee Gaze was absent for the majority of their performance at V Festival's Staffordshire site this weekend (August 17).

Gaze appeared with the band at their Chelmsford gig (August 16), but was forced to rush to hospital shortly before Lostprophets took to the stage at Staffordshire, turning up for the last few songs.

In a statement, the band said:

"Lostprophets want to thank all of their fans - old and new - for
supporting them at V Festival in Chelmsford and Stafford this weekend.

"The band would like to apologise for the absence of guitarist Lee Gaze for the majority of the set on Sunday at Stafford. He was at a nearby hospital with his heavily pregnant wife and dashed to the festival site as soon as he was able to play the last few songs.

"Everything is fine with all the family."

Watch an exclusive NME.COM video of Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins talking about Gaze's non-appearance, as well as details of how he planned to relax at the festival.

Watkins, you and your and have no style. Your hair is Russell Brand and your guitarist looks like Gareth from the Office. You make most of your videos in the States and drive big american cars. You are about as important to music in this country as Kiss. All mouth and full of ****. Come to Wales darling.
