Methinks there might be an empty tent for Lost Prophets, what with an actual headline worthy act on the Main Stage; I congradualate the organisers for making the NME tent a rock stage for Saturday though; Leeds/Reading is always let down by poor planning, so at least Fest Rep. are doing something right for once.

OMG I am sooooooo pissed off about Lostprophets even appearing at Reading and Leeds at all, let alone headlining the NME stage. Listening to Lostprophets is like listening to a cat being violated. Couldn't they have got someone talented to headline the NME stage, such as Foals, MGMT or Pete Doherty??? Oh well, I guess I still have Vampire Weekend and Florence & The Machine to look forward to.

And that's it? That's what everyone was waiting for in the forums last night that didn't materialise until today? Everybody actually already knew that. I thought at least the 3rd Radio 1 stage headliner would be revealed as well

I think its a great addition but its something alot of people already knew. lostprophets were amazing in 07 one of the bands of the festival.bloc party shouldnt be there AGAIN 3rd year in a row, playing in the same slot! that was just stupid. theres so many more better bands out there to fill that spot. but yea indie kids quit your moaning the whole festival is basically gone indie. and who ever said pete doherty instead, get your ears tested!

Apr 7, 2009

jeez everyone stop moaning. this is actually a good line-up and lostprophets are good. immense live infact. and they still have over 100 bands to announce yet.and all the tickets are sold out so if you have a ticket stop complaining and just enjoy it and and if you haven't got a ticket your either bitter about it or just plain sad.

I can't believe the things some of these people are saying... the only good bands are florence and the machine, vampire weekend etc?? I'd just like to let these people know that there were some bands around before 2006! and they were generally of better quality as well!

Since when was reading/leeds an explicitly 'Rock' festival? Since never. Fine it had a frankly shit rock day, that I would never go near if you paid me, but it has always seemed pretty indie to me in recent years. The lineup is great so far.If you want 'Rock' go to Download

90jl11

Apr 8, 2009

Oh and by the way Lostprophets are bollocks.

MartynDavenport

Apr 16, 2009

lol everyone always says "If you want rock, go to Download" Like everybody wants to listen to metal if they don't like indie. Leeds & Reading used to made up mostly of non pretentious genuinely talented alternative groups, and had almost nothing from either extreme, indie/pop or metal. All the indie lovers seem to think that if you don't like indie, you're a metalhead. Should all go and find themselves some proper bands to listen to

nicktuckerrr

Apr 27, 2009

Grow up, stop complaining. They make much more decent music than all the indie bands. Metallica last year, they were heavy and they played awesome. Also, with Reading being for alternative music, download for metal, this is complete bollocks. Download is prodomintly metal and Glastonbry is prodomintly alternative. Reading is the festival that has a good mix of both. To be fair live with it. Lostprophets are awesome end of.

Apr 27, 2009

Hey guys, piss off. If you don't like them, don't go. Let their fans actually see them. Lostprophets are hardly Indie. Go on Youtube, and see their previous Reading and Leeds Footage. You can't say theres no crowd, and that they hate what they hear. You don't always get what you want...

Apr 27, 2009

This line-up fails...cuz I'm not going =/I'm glad Lostprophets are playing though and that they're headlining a smaller tent, it'd probably be even more immense with less people...if that makes sense.

andyllw91

Apr 27, 2009

god guys.... Lostprophets win my vote any day... it's nice to see some 'rockier' acts added to the bill.... in my opinion too much indie this year... and no i dnt like heavy metal that much so i wnt bum off to Download before anyone says. Lostprophets will have a packed tent..... espescially with new album on the way. A band that is much better than these indie one-hit wonders e.g. MGMT, Foals... and other same old same old indie bands.

Jahovaa

May 11, 2009

Wow, what a shit band to have headlining. Sunday in the Nme tent is truly awful this year. The Gaslight Anthem??? Why? Also all people who get all pissed when someone slags off a band they like, a reply like: 'Dont go, let their fans enjoy it.....' etc, is a bit lame. Commenting on this stuff is about having your say, it's not personal, and lostprophets, frankly, are shit.

Lostprophets are fucking amazing. They're latest album was a bunch of shit with the exception of about two songs. They're first two albums are fucking amazing. And they're performing they're new album at the festival. And they have said it's going to be like the first two albums mixed, harder, more distortion, bit more screaming. They should be on the fucking main stage like they have been before, not pieces of shit like Enter Shikari, they speak, they don't fucking sing. Another is Kings of Leon, one good song. The rest is complete shittttttt.
