Lostprophets have announced plans to release their fifth studio album, entitled 'Weapons', on April 2.

The Welsh rockers will release a free download of their new track 'Better Off Dead' tomorrow (January 6) through their Facebook page. The song will get its first play tomorrow at 8.40am on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Zane Lowe.

The follow up to 2010's 'The Betrayed' will be released through Epic. The band will also be announcing tour news soon.

In October of last year, former Lostprophets and Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin revealed that he had joined Angels And Airwaves.

Rubin, who has also released two solo albums under the moniker of The New Regime, replaced Atom Willard as the band's drummer. Willard left the band earlier this year amid rumours that he will be reuniting with his former outfit Rocket From The Crypt.
