Lou Reed gears up for spring tour

The Velvet Underground veteran Lou Reed delivers the keynote speech at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas (March 13). The 66-year-old rocker is one of several older-generation musicians at the festival. Van Morrison has played already, whilst Dolly Parton was forced to pull out for health reasons.

Jaunt includes a show at New York's Highline

Lou Reed is gearing up for a tour of the US, kicking off April 20 in Northampton, MA.

The former Velvet Underground frontman who last week performed ‘Walk On The Wild Side’ with Moby at SXSWwill finish up the short stint with a show at New York’s Highline Ballroom.

Following the US dates, Reed heads for Europe for a string of shows.

His US dates are:
