Secret ceremony took place earlier this year
Lou Reed married his long-term partner in a private ceremony in Colorado earlier this month.
The couple tied the knot on April 12, but news of their marriage only became public as celebrations moved to New York this week.
The couple have been together since 1995.
Anderson has collaborated with Reed on a number of occasions, including, his 2003 album 'The Raven'.
The couple's private party, held at the home of photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders was attended by actor Richard Belzer and producer Hal Willner, reports the Guardian.
