Lewis fell into second place with her single 'Bleeding Love', while a wealth of Christmas tracks made it into the Top 40.

Mariah Carey jumped four places to Number Four with 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' while The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl also shot up to Number Eight with 'Fairytale Of New York'.

Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' went in at 14 while Slade and Shakin' Stevens both went in with 'Merry Xmas Everybody' at number 22 and 'Merry Christmas Everyone' at 23.
