The pop queen and the hip-hop titan join forces to star in a new ad for Gap...

MADONNA and MISSY ELLIOTT are to star in a new advertising campaign for high-street fashion chain GAP.

In the latest advert for pairs of cords, Madonna will appear alongside Elliott, who will perform a version of Madge's first UK Number One single, 1985's 'Into The Groove'.

Madonna turned eccentric designer Jean-Paul Gaultier into a household name when she wore his pointed corsets for her 'Blonde Ambition' tour in 1990.

Gap will not reveal how much they paid Madonna to appear in the advert, though MediaGuardian estimated the figure at several million pounds. In 1999, Madonna earned £4m for advertising Max Factor make-up.

The clothing chain announced a huge rise in sales last month following it's shift in focus from high-fashion clothes to concentrating on fashion basics such as jeans, cords and T-shirts.
