'X Factor' loser wins chart battle with Madonna

has gone straight into the UK singles chart at number one with his first release.

The 'X Factor' contestant knocks Madonna off the top spot, as ‘Sorry’ drops three places to four.

Meanwhile Pussycat Dolls just miss out on another number one hit, as their new single ‘Beep’ goes in at two.

Elsewhere on the singles chart, Graham Coxon is new at 20 with ‘Standing On My Own Again’ , The Rakes score a number 22 hit with ‘All Too Human’ and Mystery Jets are in at 23 with ‘The Boy Who Ran Away’ .

Meanwhile, soul sensation is new at number one on the album chart with her self-titled debut.
